3D Reconstruction of Dynamic Scenes






My Ph.D. was to create a view synthesis methodology to optimise for the best quality virtual view (versus the most accurate 3D representation). The research contributed an exact and efficient method to compute the visual hull in the image space, followed by the first method to guarantee removal of phantom volumes called safe hull, and a stereo-based refinement of the safe hull surface. The synthesised views provide a high quality interactive free-viewpoint video of a dynamic scene.
